Poor Little Girl

Strapped down to that seat again
She's trying to move
Her command does not function
As anger screams in her face
She's numb to it all now
Used to feeling the pain
Feeling the punch come across her face
Seeing her marked body in the mirror
She makes excuses when people see the marks
Saying she fell down the stairs or something
Knowing her life is no longer as it seems
There's no use in crying anymore
Because the pain she feels seems to makes her no longer weak
On the inside she's broken ... crying inside
Weaker with each moment of the day
But it doesn't show
Because she's just a little girl
Maybe 7 or 8
Being hit by daddy once again
Going through the pain when she steps foot into the house
She doesn't scream when he comes at her
Or tries to run away
He tells her she's been bad
And ever since mommy left this has happened
Mommy left with the same marks on her too
Leaving her little girl with daddy
Knowing if she ever went back for her little girl she'd be dead
Poor little girl suffers day after day
With new marks on her when she goes to school
She's running out of excuses
But says that same one as before
She wonders why her mommy has abandoned her
But still no answer answers her question
Daddy says since she's hurt him he hurts her back
But no little girl can do harm at the age of 7 or 8
And so this routine continues on
Until one day daddy hits too hard
Sending her in shock and nearly killing her
Poor little girl is nearly dead
As she lies in the hospital bed
She goes home and she's beaten again
Poor little girl ...
