I offer up my heart
Offer it to you Lord
For it is Yours as You created me
Saved me,
And Guide me
I offer You my heart, as thus far no one down here seems to want it
I offer it to you with all my silly daydreams
My romantic visions,
Imaginary conversation with a tall but not too tall,
Strong and capable
Sensible,
Intelligent
Usually dark haired Christian gentleman
With a sense of humor
Whose eyes never have a settle color,
But are always deep in whatever color they are,
And looking lovingly at me.
I offer all my different ideas for where, when, and how I meet this person.
I offer all my sighs and longing looks when I see other couples,
real, movie fiction, or by imagination by book
I offer up my hopes and dreams of the imagined, pleasant edge of suburbia life
with a husband and kids in a small but comfortable home.
I offer up my heart with all its emotions, longings, hopes, and wishes,
Offered up to Your safe-keeping,
Until the time You see fit to send me the one You're preparing for me.
