After a too-long absence (I kept getting bounced around the country, and didn't really have time to come around here, or to write very much), I'm happy to say that I'm back. I'm glad this place is still here, but I just wish it were a little more active, though I notice people have been submitting quite a poetry lately.

Yeah, things have been on the quiet side around here, but slow and steady wins the race, right? <br> <br>On another topic, I like the quote in your signature. That could have applied to me for some of the time I was at college ... there would be whole weeks I would be going to bed when the sun was coming up.

Wow, I drop in after a months off and this is all the activity around here? While it's nice that at least one person's back, it seems that everyone else has jumped ship and left.

Well, Phil's still around, you're still around, I'm still around, and Michael seems to drop in every once in while. It's not much, but it's a start, right?

True, but this place could definitely benefit from some more active members. It would probably get pretty boring if it was just four of us talking to each other all the time!

Well, one good way to get people here is word of mouth. If anyone thinks they might know someone who's interested in poetry and/or writing in general, they might be interested in the site. <br /> <br />Another thing that might help is more interactivity in the site. You can submit poetry and stories, but that's about it for right now. Phil is doing a lot to get the site running the way it needs to. Recently, he's been doing a lot of work to this board, as you may have noticed, and he continues to do a lot. <br /> <br />Once I get brushed up on PHP syntax (nearly there), I'll be starting work on a quotes script that'll let users be able to add quotes from books, speeches, etc, which I believe is intended for here (but might be able to be used at our other sites as they come along). <br /> <br />I personally think a more memorable address to the site would help a lot. Unfortunally, adding an extra domain on to the site is like $5 extra or something a month, and we've considered it, but are not sure if we'd like to spend the extra money right now.

<blockquote ><div><cite>Quote</cite>$5 extra or something a month</div></blockquote> <br /> <br />Yeah, I can see where that would be a stretch to the limit on anyone's budget. <br /> <br /> <br />...<img src="http://www.poetsquill.com/images/forums/emoticons/cool.gif" alt='8)' />
